Rabbitohs player Michael Chee Kam is taking a barber course to ensure he has career options. He, along with other players from the Rabbitohs and

Parramatta Eels are training to be hairdressers with the Barber Academy.

“I cut my mates’ hair all through school, and I’ve always wanted to open my own shop one day,” the 31-year-old said, though added he was surprised at how taxing standing and cutting hair was on the body.

“It’s good to have another thing ready under the belt for when I do finish up,” he said.

The Barber Academy, renowned for its exceptional barber training, has partnered with the NRL to provide players with the opportunity to complete their Certificate III in Barbering and upskill through specialised short courses.
